The NHS Information Centre has updated the QOF business rules version 17 following the April 2010 code release.
NHS Connecting for Health is issuing the business rules for information only. This also allows GP practice staff to be informed of the latest codes qualifying for the QOF clinical disease areas. It also allows GP system suppliers and any third-party software suppliers to update relevant QOF local searches and templates where appropriate.
Please note QMAS will not be updated to accept business rules version 17 messages from GP system suppliers until after October 2010
Please note the business rule sets contain both Read v2 and CTv3 code clusters. Read v0 code clusters are no longer produced for the business rule sets.

PCTs should contact their PCCA if any further explanation of the business rules is required. GPs and practice managers should refer to their PCT.
The NHS Information Centre is now responsible for the development and maintenance of QOF business rules.
