Once a project has been defined and a site identified, legal checks should be undertaken to clarify issues such as ownership, restrictive covenants, boundary conditions and rights of way.
Legal input will also be required in drafting leases and licences to potential development partners and other stakeholders, and in establishing a framework for service charges. An understanding of liability and shared risk is also required.
