Community pharmacy contractual framework (CPCF) funding ready reckoner

Ready reckoner 2012/3

DH has released the 2012/13 version of the ready reckoner that allows PCTs to estimate their expenditure on pharmaceutical services.  Whilst it includes an estimate of the cost of the one-off new medicines service loyalty bonus it does not include the on-going costs of this service due to short amount of time this service has been running.

28 June 2011

An updated ready reckoner is now available for primary care trusts (PCTs) to assess the financial implications of community pharmacy contractual framework funding. This takes into account the changes made from April 2011.

PCTs can use this to profile their own spend and do their own projections.

PCTs will be aware that the proposed New Medicines Service (to be introduced later this year) will also have cost implications. Further information on the final settlement for 2011/12 will be made available in due course.

2009/10 ready reckoner

DH produced a ready reckoner to help PCTs understand the financial implications of the devolution of the pharmacy global sum from April 2010.  It should be noted that this version does not reflect the change in the way dispensing appliance contractor infrastructure payments are recharged to PCTs.
