Contract management handbook

The contract management handbook brings together helpful guidance, best practice and practical hints and tips that help ensure high quality NHS dental treatment - and increased access where appropriate - is provided to patients.

Taking the form of a definitive step by step reference guide, the handbook contains:

  • objectives, outcomes, resources and key tasks for all aspects of contract management
  • lists of tactical actions that PCTs can take to see immediate improvements in local access.

The handbook emphasises that effective contract management is about a partnership between both parties to the agreement, and this must continue to be the overall approach.

Who the handbook is for

The handbook sets out to help PCT teams manage their dental contracts effectively and confidently. The approaches recommended assumes that all such activity will be carried out by a multidisciplinary team that incorporates all the experience and expertise necessary to the effective management of dental contracts.
