This briefing provides guidance to PCTs on the National Health Service (Functions of Strategic Health Authorities and Primary Care Trusts and Administration Arrangements) (England) Regulations 2002, as amended (the 2002 Regulations). The 2002 regulations set out how PCTs may delegate functions imposed upon them by the National Health Service Act 2006 and other legislation.
Although focussing exclusively on PCT functions in relation to the commissioning and contracting of pharmaceutical services it is relevant to the delegation of all PCT functions.
