Case study: NHS Ealing reducing list inflation to deliver patient benefits
NHS Ealing has improved the service it can deliver to patients by reducing list inflation in its GPs’ lists from 30% in 1998 to 4% today. This has brought numerous benefits for patients: increased accuracy on the PCT’s Exeter patient information system; improved ability to meet screening targets; better patient safety by ensuring the right person receives sensitive mailings. An additional benefit is the fostering of close working relationships with local GPs and greater trust between GPs and the PCT.
