The Department of Health announced on Thursday 30th October 2008 a public consultation on the GP Quality Incentive Scheme; the Quality & Outcomes Framework (QOF). Under new proposals set out in the consultation, the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) would in future oversee the annual process of reviewing clinical indicators. From April 2009, NICE would review the benefits to patients and the cost effectiveness of the indicators used to assess the quality of care provided by GP practices. The 12-week consultation is seeking views on how the new process for assessing evidence for QOF indicators should work.
As part of the consultation process NHS Primary Care Commissioning are organising 5 national events to gather views and feedback.
All events are interactive and will provide delegates every opportunity to input to the consultation and feedback comments and suggestions throughout.
