Pharmacy regulations and guidance user group
Introduction
The DH, working with representatives from PCTs, primary care support agencies and the Primary Care Commissioning Team, established an expert user group, to inform and support the development and amendment to national pharmaceutical regulations and guidance.
Aims of the Group
The aims of the group are as follows;

As users of the regulations and guidance – to act as an expert advisory group in their interpretation and development

To support the DH in the development of revisions to regulations and guidance to ensure clarity in their purpose

To support the development of further guidance and advisory materials to support the NHS in implementing and managing the new pharmaceutical regulations

To advise the DH of anomalies and difficulties within the current regulations and where further guidance could support ensuring clarity of these

To share experience and good practice within the group which can be used nationally and cascaded wider across the NHS

To inform the development of learning and support resources to the NHS, such as contents and form of learning events and materials

Where appropriate take responsibility for developing aspects of NHS support materials and guidance to support the wider NHS
Work programme and meeting arrangements
Meeting arrangements are on a 4 monthly basis
Reporting Arrangements
Group members will be expected to be conduits of information for the constituents and groups they represent.
