Community services data added to QPC
30 March 2011
The latest available community services reference cost data for 2009/10 has been added to the Quality and Productivity Calculator.
QPC benchmarks spend and activity in primary care, acute and community services across all PCT areas in England. It allows commissioners to make better informed choices about where to concentrate their efforts in making QIPP savings, raising quality and focusing investment.
Free to NHS organisations and emerging GP commissioning consortia, QPC aggregates data from a number of sources including Better Care, Better Value indicators, national quality data, and primary and secondary care financial data including NHS Comparators.
This version has been updated to include 2009/10 data and more targeted comparisons with SHA and ONS cluster peers. Community services data for 2009/10 will be added when it becomes available in early 2011.
Since May 2010 PCC advisers have made more than 80 visits to local commissioning teams to demonstrate the tool, These visits, which are free, will help you to apply QPC most effectively to local commissioning needs. We welcome enquiries from existing practice-based commissioning groups, pathfinders and emerging GP consortia. To arrange a demonstration contact lisa.bourgaize@pcc.nhs.uk.
