Introduction - What is NHS Supply2Health?

As signalled in the Operating Framework 08/09, the Department of Health has been developing the PCT procurement portal for clinical services called NHS Supply2Health.  NHS Supply2Health will provide a single source of information for providers looking for Part B clinical services advertisements where the PCT is the main contracting authority.

The NHS Supply2Health website is scheduled to go live by September 2008, in line with the establishment of the competition panel this Autumn. 

From 30th September 2008 it will be mandatory for all PCTs to use NHS Supply2Health and each PCT will be required to have at least two people certified to use the system.

Local Communications [26/09/2008]

In order to support PCTs in communicating with local providers about the introduction of NHS Supply2Health, NHS PCC has produced the following documents for PCTs to adapt for their local communications:

• A copy of the press release that accompanied Health Minister Ben Bradshaw’s speech at the Laing & Buisson event on 18th September 2008
• A copy of the advertorial that appeared in the Health Service Journal on 25th September 2008
• A template letter/email from PCTs to their local providers
• Copies of the NHS Supply2Health logo (please ensure you use these in accordance with the NHS Identity Guidelines, available from www.nhsidentity.nhs.uk)
