In this section

Improved access to primary care services -- including but not limited to GPs -- is fundamental to NHS reform and closely related to other policy areas including the programmes to reduce health inequalities and delays in referrals.

This section of the site brings together news, policy documents and guidance, and provides practical support for PCTs working with providers to increase access. Anyone involved in commissioning at a PCT can view the subscriber pages of the site, but you will need to register first. Find out more at site help.

Access newsletter

The Access@GP newsletter is a regular communication from Dr Mike Warburton, National Director for GP Access on the three strands of the GP Access Programme - extended opening hours, local procurements of practices and health centres, and the wider responsiveness of commissioners and providers. Register to receive it here.
