Drug Tariff letter for GPs

A letter informing GPs about changes to the Drug Tariff, which have been made in order to minimise the slight risk of cylinder shortages in the run up to 1 February 2006 was distributed at the start of this week. To see the letter click here.
All steps possible are being taken to minimise the risk of a cylinder shortage:
  • HEADSETS

PCTs have been advised to step in where there are shortages of headsets and to purchase s supplies of these items and allocate to community pharmacists.

  • CYLINDER AMNESTY

The possibility of launching a national cylinder amnesty to encourage patients and others to return unwanted cylinders is being explored with the co-operation of the BLF and new suppliers.
